The largest ski resort in the United States, Vail offers over 5000 acres of unbelieveable skiing and snowboarding from November to April. It's three villages, Vail Village, Lionshead, and Golden Peak, provide access to nearly 200 trails serviced by 31 lifts. Difficulty levels range from bunny slopes and beginner terrain up to expert terrain and Vail's renowned back bowls.
Vail's parent company, Vail Resorts, owns three other resorts within easy driving distance: Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone. Tickets and passes can be purchased that include all of these mountains, so if you're looking for a change of scenery, you won't have any trouble finding more great powder.
