Steamboat Springs Colorado TransportationNavigating Steamboat Springs is a cinch even if you aren’t planning to bring a car.  Whether you plan to ski and snowboard every day or want to take a break for shopping or sightseeing, you'll have no problem navigating the town.

Steamboat offers a free city wide bus system, making it easy to travel from your hotel or vacation rental to various local activities. The Steamboat Springs Transit (SST) runs year-round and services all the major lodging areas on Steamboat Resort and in town. This bus system consists of 3 regular bus lines and 2 on-call bus lines. Steamboat also boasts a regional bus service between Steamboat Springs and Craig. A day trip to Craig can include a visit to one of the top area attractions, the Sandrock Nature Trail and Petroglyphs.  Plan a rock climbing excurion or a visit to the Wyman Natural History Museum and Museum of Northwest Colorado.  The bus will take you round trip so you don't have to worry about getting lost or navigating back roads.

The closest commercial airport to Steamboat Springs is the Yampa Valley Regional Airport in Hayden.

If you plan to fly into DIA, several shuttle companies will provide private and shared Steamboat transportation, as well.
