Lodging

Woodland Park was originally called Manitou Park, and was a railroad stop along the Colorado Midland Railroad. The settlement was first established to provide housing for railroad workers, but was soon a popular destination for tuberculosis patients who needed the high-altitude, dry climate that Colorado's Rocky Mountains provided. Today Woodland Park is partly a bedroom community for the Colorado Springs area, but is also an independent mountain community in its own right.
