Loveland ski area is located right off of Route 70 on the way to Summit County. It opened the slopes to skiers in 1936. The ski area started with just a portable tow rope in the area is that is now known as Loveland Basin. The Loveland Ski Area is the Loveland Basin and Loveland Valley combined. The Basin and Valley used to be connected by a double chairlift, but now they have a bus running between the two of them. Loveland Ski Area has the second highest ski lift in North America and is one of the highest ski areas with a summit in Colorado!
For your convenience, Loveland ski area offers free parking at the base area and you can walk to the slopes from there. Their shuttle service runs from the Basin to the Valley and back every 5-10, so you will not be waiting long to get on the mountain.
Loveland Ski Area is a great place to ski for all experience levels. If you have never skied or snowboarded they offer classes for kids and adults. There are packaged deals that you can get for your equipment and lessons. Loveland is sure to be a good time and will not disappoint!
