Just over 7,000 feet above sea level, Estes Park offers access to Trail Ridge Road, one of America's Byways, and a destination in its own right.  Trail Ridge Road runs through Rocky Mountain National Park to the town of Grand Lake and offers spectacular views, frequent wildlife sightings and access to the many hiking trails that crisscross the park as it reaches an elevation of over 12,000 feet. Trail Ridge Road also crosses the Continental Divide at Milner Pass and is almost 50 miles long. Usually closed during the snowy winter months, Trail Ridge is a popular tourist attraction

One of the most famous attractions to Estes Park is the Stanley Hotel, located right outside the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The Stanley Hotel is the inspiration for Stephen King’s famed novel The Shining. Tours and ghost hunts are available daily at the Stanley Hotel, and are a popular draw to visitors of Estes Park.

Among the many things to do in Estes Park, the area is considered home to some of the best hiking and climbing in the United States with an abundance of trails located in Rocky Mountain National Park. Whether you are looking for a trek to waterfall, a camping trip along the continental divide or just a peaceful nature walk, Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes have what you need. Check out the visitor center located right at the east entrance to the park and talk to one of the knowledgeable park rangers about all the happenings in the park.

The town of Estes Park has no shortage of activities and events either. Take a stroll along Main St. in the town and visit the many stores to grab a true Colorado souvenir. Multiple events take place each year including concertsfine art shows, car shows, rubber ducky races, an elk fest, amongst others. Estes Park is a beautiful location that is not to be missed when travelling to Colorado.
