Durango Skiing & Snowboarding

Durango Skiing and SnowboardingIf you're planning a Durango vacation in the winter, you'll want to include skiing and snowboarding in your plans.  The San Juan Mountains are known for their amazing ski terrain and unrivaled annual snowfall, and with several resorts in driving distance, you'll have lots of options for Durango skiing.

Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort is located just outside of the city of Durango and offers a variety of ski trails as well as year round family fun including events, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and snow tubing.

Within two hours' drive are three more ski areas, making it easy to lodge in Durango and explore everything the San Juans have to offer.  Wolf Creek, Silverton and Telluride offer unparalled skiing of all varieties.

Wolf Creek is known in Colorado for having some of the highest snowfall in Colorado with an average of 465 inches each winter.  Silverton is famous among expert skiers for its no-frills base area and extreme terrain.  Telluride is beloved for its off-the-beaten-path status, with minimal crowds, fantastic snow, and great local culture.

Durango snowboarding and skiing has something for all ages and ability levels.
