The Homestead is surrounded by the Routt National Forest with the nearest neighbor 8 miles away. There is no other private land, insuring The Homestead will remain isolated.

On the drive up the valley you can see the Elkhorn Mountains including Sand Mountain, Saddle Mountain, Meaden Peak, and Diamond Peak. The views from The Homestead are spectacular! The view to the south is dominated by Hahns Peak. To the east, is the Continental Divide and the high alpine meadows of Big Red Park.

The Manzanares Lakes trailhead and the new Continental Divide Trail are located right nextdoor leading hikers into the Mount Zirkel Wilderness Area.

Don't forget your fishing gear! Catch your limit of Brook Tout in Silver City Creek or in the Little Snake River. The Mount Zirkel Wilderness Area has numerous lakes and streams as well as spectacular views.
