The Homestead |
| The Homestead is located in Big Red Park, a high mountain meadow 35 miles north of Steamboat
Springs, Colorado. Our nearest neighbor is eight miles away. The Homestead is one of a kind! Routt National Forest completely surrounds the 160 acre property. We are remote, but not rustic. Our log cabin is open year-round for your enjoyment of hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, horseback riding, fishing and other recreational activities. Pick a different to explore every day. |
| Summer access is by a well maintained forest road, however, in the winter
the only way to get in is via snowmobiles, skis, snowshoes or our
snowcat. While remote, our new Log Cabin is certainly not primitive. The cabin contains two bedrooms and two baths with room to sleep six...perfect for couples or familes. Details include slate and hardwood floors, a complete kitchen, leather furnishings, and solar electricity. |

| We welcome dogs, but not inside, they need a vacation too. Also, there are smoking restrictions. |

In the winter, Big Red Park is a snowmobiler's dream with over 100
miles of trails...bring your own machine or we can arrange for a rental. If you are a cross-country skier or snowshoer come challenge our hidden wilderness with a variety of pine forest, rolling hills, and open meadow areas...or follow groomed trails knowing that a hot shower and warm bed await. |
| In the summer, you can ride horseback, hike and ATV on trails
radiating in all directions. Or catch your limit of Brook Trout in nearby
Silver City Creek or in the Little Snake River. For a unique vacation experience, come visit us at The Homestead. Call, write or e-mail Terry and Denise for additional information or reservations. Our rate is only $250 per night for up to six lucky guests; activities extra. It's more than a vacation, it's a good investment! Own a piece of The Homestead.
