Ski the Legend! Arapahoe Basin ski resort has earned a reputation over the years as a locals’ favorite because of its amazing terrain and down-to-earth vibe. Trails range from groomed beginner and intermediate slopes to some of the most exciting advanced and expert terrain in Colorado. Started in 1946, A-Basin offers the highest elevation terrain for skiing anywhere in North America and typically has the longest ski season of any ski area in the state.
In 2007-2008, A-Basin expanded to Montezuma Bowl, the first time the mountain offered bowl skiing. The addition increased the mountain’s terrain by 80 percent with intermediate, advanced, and expert terrain.
In the spring, Arapahoe Basin becomes a hotspot for the long-standing tradition of “Beachin’ at the Basin”, where skiers tailgate along the edge of the main parking lot that abuts the slopes.
For those needing refreshment, the A-Frame base area lodge offers a cafeteria, coffee shop and bar. The Black Mountain Lodge at mid-mountain also provides bistro-style dining plus an outdoor grilling area when the weather is warm. Black Mountain Lodge also offers a Moonlight Dinner series, with themed dinners help on Saturdays approximately once a month (during the full moon series). Ride the lift to the lodge, and after dinner snowshoe down to the base area!
