Campgrounds along Lake Dillon offer basic amenities and access to the water for fishing, kayaking, and camping. As you head south towards town, you’ll find options ranging from fully appointed RV parks to backcountry sites. These options offer the easiest access to Breckenridge while still letting you enjoy a night outdoors. If you decide you want to head into town, there is also a free local bus system, making it easy to get from your campsite to Main Street, Breckenridge.
South of Breckenridge, there is little in the way of established campgrounds with amenities, however if you’re hoping to enjoy the Colorado backcountry, you’ll find plenty of options. Numerous local trails allow backcountry camping while providing incredible views, potential wildlife sightings, and the perfect escape from civilization.
