Exploring Main Street is a must for all visitors, where you will find a variety of wonderful shops, plus numerous restaurants. You'll find menus for any palette, and restaurants suitable for families or a romantic dinner for two. Breckenridge enjoys an active night life as well, with over 30 bars located on Main Street alone.

For winter vacationers, Breckenridge Ski Resort is the second most visited ski and snowboard destination in the United States, with multi-difficulty slopes across four peaks on the Ten Mile Range of the Rocky Mountains. The Nordic Center offers cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Other winter activities include dog sledding with Siberian huskies, authentic sleigh rides (dinner packages available), and snowmobile tours.

One of many special winter events is The International Snow Sculpture Championships, held every January. Another is the annual Spring Fever month-long celebration at the end of the ski season that attracts many visitors, with live concerts, festivities and other celebrations around spring skiing.

Summers in Breckenridge offer the perfect hot weather retreat, with daytime temperatures averaging in the 70's and lovely cool evenings to follow. There is world class whitewater rafting through spectacular scenery on several rivers within easy reach of town. Zip Line tours are very popular, as well as rock climbing, fly fishing and horseback riding.

For mountain biking, there are innumerable trails such as the Peaks Trail, which connects Breckenridge and Frisco. The large number of passes in Summit County also attract road bikers. The nearby “fourteener” Quandary Peak is a favorite with hikers. Boating activities are available on nearby Lake Dillon.

There are also many special annual events as well as numerous art fairs that come to town.
