Breckenridge Ski Resort Expands to Peak 6

Breckenridge Peak 6 SkiingBreckenridge Ski Resort is working hard to get Peak 6 ready for the 2013-14 season.  The expansion will add 543 acres of skiing and snowboarding, with 400 acres serviced by lift and the remaining area considered "hike-to" terrain.

Peak 6 will provide intermediate level terrain in a high alpine bowl environment plus 10 new trails all just north of existing Peak 7.  The expansion will increase Breck's total ski terrain by 23%, bring the total size to 2,901 acres.  This new peak will be accessed by quad chair and a high-speed, six person chair.

While Peak 6's official opening day will depend on snowfall, it will be opening during the 2013-14 winter season, so wax up those skis and get ready for winter!

Breckenridge Peak 6 SnowboardingBreckenridge is located approximately 1.5 hours west Denver along the Interstate 70 corridor and boasts a quaint, Victorian-style downtown with a wide range of shops and restaurants.  Lodging options in Breckenridge range from slopeside condos, to high end hotels, to bed and breakfasts, to rental homes.

Breckenridge's ski season will run from November 8th, 2013 through April 20th, 2014.  Season passes are on sale now, and a variety of ticket packages will be available.

In addition to Breckenridge skiing and snowboarding, the resort offers winter sleigh rides and an alpine coaster.  Breckenridge boasts a Nordic center on the north end of town, and snow tubing is available in nearby Frisco, Colorado.
