Boulder Hiking

Boulder Hiking Trails and HikesBoulder is well known for its in-town activities, but because it is surrounded by the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and designated open spaces, it offers plenty of fantastic outdoor activities as well, including incredible hiking.

Whether you are looking for a leisurely stroll or an ambitious climb, Boulder hiking trails have something for everyone from the Boulder Creek Path that runs through town to 14,000 foot Longs Peak.  Most trails are dog friendly, and some are leisurely enough to bring younger children.

Hiking around Boulder offers numerous opportunities to see wildlife, flowers and great scenery.  Some trails will lead you to rushing rivers while others offer breathtaking views of the iconic Flatirons.  If you're looking for a unique hike, consider Boulder Falls, the only waterfall hike in the Boulder area, or Royal Arch, a natural stone arch at the end of a short but strenuous trail.

There are also numerous state parks in easy driving distance, which means even more trails to explore in a pristine natural environment.  If you're looking for a great hike on your Colorado vacation, Boulder offers a great base camp for your excursion.
